AD Poly has the objective of building a competent and innovative workforce needed in a knowledge economy evolving in tandem with the economic vision of Abu Dhabi 2030. To meet the growing demands for Emirati Information Technology (IT) professionals and skilled manpower from various commercial, private/public, and governmental sectors in the Abu Dhabi Emirate, AD Poly is offering an applied bachelor / higher diploma program in Information Security Engineering Technology. This program is designed to serve UAE’s national information security and privacy. It focuses on implementing and using state of the art techniques and methods to develop specialized security technologists for secure software development, systems/servers administration, as well as networks and cyber security technology. Graduates of this program will become IT professionals who will provide practical IT solutions in different types of Information Systems, e.g., secure information & communication systems.

The program thoroughly integrates knowledge and practical skills through a balanced delivery of instructional material at the AD Poly and OJT by professional training providers and potential industrial partners. This unique combination offers the students solid knowledge towards gaining an accredited Applied Bachelor / Higher Diploma in information security while receiving specialized training leading to industrial-recognized qualifications at various levels of information security. An advantage of this program is that it is possible for AD Poly graduates with high achievements and ambitions to pursue further studies, i.e., Master degrees in local and international universities. AD Poly is currently hosting some training Academies for international major IT companies and organizations, e.g., Oracle, Cisco, Microsoft, CompTIA, and RedHat. These academies will provide a platform for on-campus training and world-class certification required in the market. Moreover, this program guarantees highly prestigious jobs for its graduates within governmental establishments and private organizations as well.

The Applied Bachelor in Information Security Engineering Technology Program at ADPoly provides career path professional certification baskets that incorporate vendor neutral professional certifications (Security+, Network+, CISSP, SSCP, CISA, CEH, OSCP, CHFI, etc.) and vendor-specific professional certifications (CCNA, CCNP, MCSE, CCSP, TISIA, etc.).

The department has two active student clubs, namely, IEEE Student Chapter and Cyber Club,  where these are operated by students and serve other students and the community.
