Danielle Wilson-Gulston is an experienced educator and researcher with over 17 years of excellence in higher education. Throughout her career, she has held academic positions including Senior Instructor at Sultan Qaboos University, Instructor at NYU Abu Dhabi, Florida Atlantic University and The British University in Dubai, in addition to holding the position of Lecturer at Middlesex University Dubai.
Danielle has demonstrated expertise in curriculum development, instructional design, and research administration while teaching courses in English for Academic Purposes, Critical Thinking, Academic Writing, Leadership, and the Sociology of Education. She has delivered foundation-level college readiness courses and leadership programmes, preparing students for the academic, social, and personal demands of higher education.
Her professional achievements include launching the TEDx The British Universityin Dubai, serving as Speaker Training & Development Chair, and designing pre-sessional EAP programmes. She also served as a TEDx speaker where she delivered a talk on the empowerment of students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities – Watch her talk here.
Beyond academia, Danielle has worked as a consultant in instructional design and research with Mahogany Inclusion Partners in the United Kingdom and as a corporate trainer, designing bespoke language and communication training programmes for C-suite executives and companies in the luxury and hospitality sectors in the UAE.
Her research interests focus on educational leadership, social justice in education, decolonization of curricula, and teaching and learning in underrepresented environments and minority populations.
