Dr. Yasir Hamid is an Associate Professor and Head of the Information Security Engineering Technology Department at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, UAE. He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering from Pondicherry University, India, as well as a Master of Computer Applications and a Bachelor of Computer Applications from the University of Kashmir, India.
Before joining Abu Dhabi Polytechnic, Dr. Yasir worked as an Assistant Professor at the Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST), India, and as a Teaching Assistant at Pondicherry Engineering College. He has extensive experience in teaching, research, curriculum development, accreditation, and academic leadership at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Big Data Analytics, and Information Security. He has published research in international peer-reviewed journals and presented his work at international conferences. He is particularly interested in connecting academic learning with practical industry needs and preparing students for careers in cybersecurity.
