Accreditation

Abu Dhabi Polytechnic established the Information Security Engineering Technology (ISET) program beginning of the academic year 2012-2013 to graduate skilled technical engineers/technologists who are benchmarked to international dual educational systems and international standards. The program’s major concerns are focused on designing, implementing, and maintaining core elements constituting the security environment based on internationally recognized standards and innovative means. Due to the dual focus on both practical aspects via enclosing state of the art practice methods, techniques, and technology solutions and theoretical aspects enclosing the state of art theorem, educational instruments, and methods; the afore-stated attributes are natural results of the Abu Dhabi Polytechnic Higher Diploma/Applied Bachelor graduates. ISET Applied Bachelor, Higher Diploma, and Diploma are currently semester-based programs requiring 120 credit hours for the Higher Diploma which is typical for a three-year semester-based academic program, and 153 credit hours for the Applied Bachelor which is typical for a four-year semester-based academic program from 2016-2017 to 2019-2022. Currently, the program offers three specializations as in the table below.

2016-2017 to 2019-2020

From 2020-2021 to the present, ISET Applied Bachelor, Higher Diploma, and Diploma are currently semester-based programs requiring 111 credit hours for the Higher Diploma which is typical for a three-year semester-based academic program, and 142 credit hours for the Applied Bachelor which is typical for a four-year semester-based academic program.

The technical content of the Higher Diploma (HD) and Applied Bachelor (AB) in the ISET program focuses on the applied aspects of science and engineering in that portion of the technological spectrum closest to technician and engineering operational functions. The technical content develops the skills, knowledge, methods, procedures, and techniques associated with the technical specializations and are appropriate to the goals of the program.
