Dr. Eric R. Halabaso is currently a faculty member in the Petroleum and Chemical Engineering Technology Department at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic under the Institute of Applied Technology. Prior to this role, he served as an Associate Professor and Chair of the Department of Chemical Engineering at Mariano Marcos State University. He also held key leadership positions as Chief of International Accreditation under the Quality Assurance Directorate and as Section Chief for Testing and Technical Services at the National Bioenergy Research and Innovation Centre.
With extensive teaching experience, he has served in several respected institutions in the Philippines, contributing significantly to engineering education and academic development. He completed his undergraduate degree with academic distinction, graduating cum laude. Throughout his academic journey, he was a recipient of prestigious scholarships during his undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral studies. He was also recognized with the Best Thesis Award in the Graduate Studies category for both his MSc in Chemical Engineering—focused on biomass and biochar technology—and his PhD in Chemical Engineering, which specialized in electrochemical engineering, reflecting the quality and impact of his research contributions.
His scholarly interests span electrochemical engineering, biomass and biochar technologies, environmental engineering, and biochemical engineering. He has authored numerous peer-reviewed articles published in reputable international journals and continues to contribute to the advancement of sustainable engineering through research and innovation. In addition, he serves as a reviewer for international scientific journals. He remains dedicated to cultivating globally competitive graduates and advancing innovation in engineering education that promotes sustainability and international academic excellence.
