Dr. Farhan H. Malik is an Associate Professor and Head of the Electrical Engineering Technology Program at Abu Dhabi Polytechnic (ADPoly), which he joined in August 2018. He manages ADPoly’s AED 3 million Mubadala Applied Research Fund, coordinates graduation projects across all six departments, and chaired multiple committees at institutional level.
He earned his D.Sc. in Electrical Engineering from Aalto University, Finland, in 2016, where he began researching intelligent agents in smart grids in 2012. His work applies AI and multi-agent systems across smart grids, electric vehicles, renewable energy and Physical AI for precision agriculture. He has led applied projects in smart PV cleaning, AI-driven agriculture and drone inspection, producing 36 publications (750+ Google Scholar citations, h-index 11) and two Takamul approved patent applications. He previously taught at the American University of the Middle East, Kuwait, and is an IEEE member.
