Dr. Kay Marschalkowski is a seasoned leadership professional with over 21 yrs. of experience spanning academia and industry. His career has a strong record in product and production engineering, business development, and project management, having led interdisciplinary teams in global, multicultural environments across the automotive, aerospace, industrial, and construction sectors.
Beginning his career in 2004 at the University of Dortmund, Dr. Marschalkowski contributed to academic research in hard machining technologies for automotive applications. He successfully led educational programs, acquired research fundings, published extensively in local and international journals, and delivered presentations worldwide.
In 2011, he transitioned to industry, first as Head of the Tool Engineering Center at a Stuttgart-based software firm specializing in production solutions and then proceeded to the global enterprise of the Schaeffler Group in 2014, headquartered in Herzogenaurach, and joined the ‘Central Production Technology Development’, serving internal customers worldwide.
By 2021, he spearheaded the Advanced Production Technology Development at the Schaeffler Group for ‘Strategy, Scouting & Trends’ for both Manufacturing and Simulation Technologies. Since March 2023, Dr. Marschalkowski has served as Global Head of Product Development and Innovation at the Schiedel Group in Munich, initiating and overseeing R&D efforts in heating, ventilation, and exhaust cleaning technologies.
